> Auckland butcher Richard Hogg says he’s offering click-and-collect services to customers because he is fed up with the “unfair rules and lack of change since last lockdown” and wants to serve his Remuera community.
>
> Under alert level 4, butchers can operate contactless delivery services, but not click-and-collect.
>
> \[…\] Hogg knows it is illegal to have customers come to the butchery but said he was making a stand.
>
> A fellow butcher had three visits from police officers in one day, so gave up and shut shop, Hogg said.
>
> “I know that this publicity may mean I am shut down, but I believe my community deserves and needs this service,” Hogg said.
>
> Hogg said the hygiene screen was up, no one could enter the shop and all level 4 hygiene procedures were operating. His customers order online and come and collect. He also does some deliveries.
>
> He has lost all his wholesale meat customers and his income has halved. Auckland is not scheduled to emerge from level 4 until September 14 at the earliest.
