*Sick of being lied to, I went in search of the truth. If you ignore the climate scam, then in all cases the truth is less palatable than the lies.*

Tom: Are you serious about stopping writing?

GOG: Well, I have delivered over 100 articles in two years. And they are increasingly getting worse.

Tom: I did suggest slowing down, when I said that I wanted more quality.

GOG: Bugger, I thought you said quantity! It is definitely time to step away methinks.

Tom: I see you as the joker of FSB – a bit of light relief. Every court needs a jester.

GOG: Often the jester is the first to get dispatched. It’s probably best to jump before I get pushed.

Tom: I see you as a stalwart.

GOG: Stalwart! That sounds like German for shite. Thanks, I am off.

Tom: Don’t make me beg.

GOG: Bloody hell mate, I am in Latvia. It’s a long way to come to give a blow job.

Tom: I did not offer you one: my merchant navy days are over.

GOG: Do tell, I always wondered what it was like to deliver one. I bet it is like the film *Midnight Express* for you horny sailors.

Tom: *Midnight Express*? It’s better to be on the receiving end. How is Zinta... enjoying your articles?

GOG: I made her feel guilty, so she started to read a few and says I am all over the place, just like our mad Brazilian friend.

Tom: Eh?

GOG: For example, she was enjoying the one called “Skips” and said, “What does nearly hitting a muntjac on a motorbike have to do with skips?"

Tom: She has a point.

GOG: I knew you’d take her side. I just see them as Ronnie Corbett digressions to get a laugh.

Tom:: Did you tell her that?

GOG: I did, but she has never heard of *The Two Ronnies*.

Tom: You’re stuffed then mate. What is your next article going to be about?

GOG: I see what you did there. The normal random shit that comes into my head. I was thinking about writing about coincidences in life.

Tom: That sounds good, hopefully a few readers may chip in with their stories. Your comment count is currently very healthy.

GOG: That’s only because a third of the comments are mine! To get more comments from others is the plan. But I can only think of one, actually two coincidences, but the second one is quite boring.

Tom: Go for it.

### **Going for it: Coincidences**

My first marriage came with two stepsons (no girls): Ian and Martyn. The neighbours to the house that we lived in had two sons: Ian and Martin (no girls).

OK, one name was spelt slightly different (see this great article):[ https://www.freespeechbacklash.com/article/choosing-your-kids-names](https://www.freespeechbacklash.com/article/choosing-your-kids-names?ref=goodoil.news).

Plus big differences in ages, and Martin was the eldest next door, and Martyn the youngest in our house. I think the age differences between brothers was about the same. My current marriage also came with two stepsons with similar age differences, but they are not called Ian or Martin! But again no girls.

Addendum to the story above, told to me by wife No 1\. She was on a bus with the kids and she spoke to another woman with a boy of similar age to her youngest. That woman said her son had the same name as one of the actors in The Professionals: Lewis Collins. Martyn’s surname was Shaw.

On holiday at Disneyland (or is that Disneyworld?) in Florida with mates. We bumped into a girl we knew from pubbing in Cleethorpes.

The location where we bumped into her was the pub in the England-themed park. (Does it still exist? I am referring to the themed park: I know England doesn’t). I distinctly remember it sold Bass beer. My go-to tipple at the time. Does Bass still exist?

I was also on holiday at Disneyworld (or is that Disneyland?) in California with Ian, Martyn and their mum. I spotted a guy I knew from work. I went over and said, this is unbelievable: 10 years ago I bumped into a girl we knew from back home in Disneyland (or was it Disneyworld?) and this time I bump into an old colleague from work.

“I don’t know you,” came the response from a clearly American guy I had never seen before in my life.
