> After multiple requests, then Speaker of the House Trevor agreed to meet me in August. I raised with him various concerns that I had also raised with the Prime Minister’s Office – of numerous Labour MPs being bullied in Parliament, staff not showing up to work and being drunk, Relationship Manager (a Labour member who tried to stop me getting selected as a candidate in Hamilton) having a conflict of interest from day 0, as well as Labour MP misusing taxpayer’s money.
>
> Trevor agreed that the Relationship Manager had a conflict of interest. He said he had known the Relationship Manager since they were a “wee child”.
>
> He agreed to getting the CEO of Parliamentary Service to do a report on the whole issue **which was never done.** (Note that this is still not an independent investigation).

> He also advised me that a complaint against a Labour Member (**Kieran McAnulty**) was going to be **career-limiting.**

> I went to see Trevor Mallard because as the Speaker of the House he was the Minister Responsible for Parliament but instead of supporting me or investigating the whole issue, he went straight to the Labour Party Whips Office after my meeting with him, and told them that I had laid a complaint (I can prove this too).
>
> When the new Speaker was sworn in, different party leaders also reflected on Trevor’s legacy. When I briefly mentioned how Trevor had mishandled my case and also not shown neutrality by letting the Labour Party Whips know about my complaint to him, he shouted at me in the Chamber calling me a “liar.” This short audio clip above just highlights what I was saying.
>
> Since then Trevor has vacated his Speaker’s job without getting a report from the CEO. He has been getting paid over $25,000 as a Labour MP for 2 months with no involvement in Parliamentary bills, no select committees and no constituent work. Now he is going to be on the gravy train to Ireland as our most senior diplomat. The same guy who punched another MP in the face.
>
> He is also the same guy who falsely accused a Parliamentary staffer of being a rapist – the result of which was taxpayers having to fund his court case ($175,000) and then settle with the staff member (another $158,000) who it turns out wasn’t a rapist.
>
> Similarly, taxpayers have had to fund another court case recently where Winston Peters took Trevor Mallard to court for his actions – the verdict was just announced today with the High Court siding with Winston Peters and calling Trevor Mallard “unreasonable, irrational, unjustified” in trespassing Peters.
>
> If an MP (in the same party as the government) can’t trust the Prime Minister’s Office to listen to a complaint, if an MP can’t trust the Speaker of the House to listen to a complaint, then who can the common person trust to hear their issues?
>
> All aboard the gravy train to Ireland while New Zealanders are being taken for a ride by the government.
