The government rushed through under urgency their anti-democratic local body laws and now they are lining up [law changes to allow gender identification as a matter of priority](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/mothballed-gender-self-id-law-back-as-a-priority-for-govt-will-pass-this-year-minister-says/CIPLGCHFKCK5OB5MOBNYTQ36RQ/?ref=goodoil.news):
