The genius of Rick, the reason we laughed so hard at him, was that anyone who’d been anywhere near a university campus *knew his type*. The spoilt middle-class brat who fancied himself a revolutionary. The clueless dolt who thought he was an intellectual. The bourgeois leftist whose political opinions were dictated by that morning’s edition of the *Guardian*. Rick’s catch-cry was “Fascist!” *Everyone* was a fascist to Rick: **Margaret Thatcher**, the doorman at the BBC, the teller at the bank… And we laughed uproariously because we recognised that Rick knew *nothing whatsoever* about *actual* fascism. Today’s left would be left wondering what all the laughter was about: because they’re all Rick, now. > In just the last few weeks, **Liz Truss**, Britain’s new prime minister, has been denounced by critics as a “fascist”. So has **Giorgia Meloni**, Italy’s newly elected prime minister. Along with all Republicans in Congress, Texas and Florida GOP Govs. **Greg Abbott** and **Ron DeSantis** and, of course, former President **Donald Trump**. Every one of the tens of thousands of “MAGA Republicans” who attend Trump rallies, too. I’m a fascist. You’re a fascist, if you’re reading this. Your budgie is probably a fascist. *Everyone* who’s not fully up to speed with wherever the left are currently at in their careening slide into Clown World is a fascist. > Truss is a fascist because she wants to cut taxes. Meloni is a fascist, and getting banned from several social media platforms, because she gave a rousing speech endorsing God, family and country. What a dangerous tyrant. Republicans in Congress are fascists because they support work for welfare and are trying to block the Green New Deal. Not just fascists, but *Nazis*. > At least President **Joe Biden** doesn’t call his political adversaries fascists. They are only “semifascists.” What a relief. As with the clueless Rick, the propensity to shout “fascist” is directly inversely proportional to knowing what fascism actually means or stood for. The founder of fascism, Mussolini, succinctly defined it as: ***All within the state, nothing outside the state, nothing against the state***. Mussolini’s fascists were noted for wearing black shirts and using thuggish street violence to quell any and all opposition. Who’s been doing *that*, lately? Ask yourselves: in our current political situation, who are the groups most dedicated to, as *Britannica* defines it, *a way of organizing a society in which a government ruled by a dictator controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the government*? > A government that “controls the lives of the people.” Let’s see – we have a group of politicians who shut down schools, businesses, restaurants and churches during Covid-19\. A government that is now telling us what kind of light bulbs we can put in our homes, what temperature we can set our thermostat in our living rooms, what kind of car we can buy and what kind of drugs we need to be inserted into our arms. > > Who is the leader who is vastly supersizing our centralized government? We all know where this is going. So do the left: which is why, as they always do when the vacuity of their arguments is exposed, they’re changing the meaning of the word to suit themselves. > Nowadays, according to the Collins Dictionary, fascism “is a set of *right-wing* political beliefs that includes strong controls of society and the economy by the state” (emphasis added). > > [Takimag](https://www.takimag.com/article/who-are-the-neofascists/?ref=goodoil.news) See what they did, there? Just as they’ve done with “racism” and “gender”, they’ve rigged the rules in their favour. By (their) definition, the left can *never* be fascist. No matter how, well, *fascistic* they are.
