## Most New Zealanders willing to extend Covid-19 lockdown ‘pain’ – survey

> \[…\] people were asked if they would be willing to remain in lockdown for at least another two weeks beyond 22 April when it is due to finish.

> **Sixty percent** agreed they would, 14 percent disagreed, and 26 percent didn’t know. He said 60 percent showed a high level of support.

I think any researcher that says 60% is a high level of support needs to be questioned.

You probably would have difficultly faulting what *Research New Zealand* says, as having a look at the bosses’ bios suggest that they know a thing or two about research. However, **it’s what this article does not say** that I think is important.

Research NZ may be independent, but they do a lot of work for the Government (Two-thirds of their client list are Government departments; the rest are charities, and they are based in Wellington). I bet this survey was commissioned by one of their Government clients – but we are not told which Government department commissioned it, nor are we given a list of the questions. Where is the analysis from the mainstream news media?
