[Musk](https://www.forbes.com/profile/elon-musk/?sh=61d7ccd87999&ref=goodoil.news), in yet another win for free speech, [offered](https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1688022163574439937?s=20&ref=goodoil.news) to stand behind employees of various companies who were mistreated for exercising free speech on his social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). Musk, in an Aug. 5 post on X, said, “If you were unfairly treated by your employer due to posting or liking something on this platform, we will fund your legal bill.”

In addition, Musk added that there is “no limit” to the legal bill that he and his team would cover for Americans who were forced to face cancel culture in the workplace.

Musk doubled down on his promise in a second post on Aug. 6, [warning](https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1688051512843395072?s=20&ref=goodoil.news), “And we won’t just sue, it will be extremely loud and we will go after the boards of directors of the companies too.”

This does more good than many people realize,” MRC Vice President of Free Speech America said. “Previously, employers thought they could terminate their staff with impunity, knowing that staff lack resources to sue for wrongful termination. Woke bosses will think twice now before they fire their employees who simply exercise their 1A rights.”

In response to Musk’s post, many X users replied with their own instances of workplace mistreatment over X/Twitter usage. These include users [Dr. Simon Goddek](https://twitter.com/goddeketal/status/1688159387993407488?ref=goodoil.news) and former ESPN analyst [Kelly Stewart](https://twitter.com/kellyinvegas/status/1688374570334519296?ref=goodoil.news), who were terminated due to their activity on X.

Musk’s remarks come hours after the baffling news that NASCAR star [Noah Gragson](https://noahgragsonracing.com/pages/about?ref=goodoil.news) was [suspended indefinitely](https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nascar-indefinitely-suspends-driver-liking-george-floyd-meme?ref=goodoil.news) by both NASCAR and his race team for simply liking a meme about George Floyd on Instagram. The remarks also come seven days after X [sued](https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/free-speech/luis-cornelio/2023/08/01/leftist-group-loses-its-mind-after-elon-musks-lawsuit?ref=goodoil.news) CCDH, an infamous group that published dubious reports claiming so-called misinformation is on the rise on X.

Posting on Twitter is notoriously risky in today’s easily triggered corporate culture and has led to a number of high-profile terminations. For example, former *Mandolorian* actress [Gina Carano](https://twitter.com/ginacarano?ref=goodoil.news) was fired in 2021 from Lucasfilm over [likening the toxicity](https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/culture/lindsay-kornick/2021/02/11/lucasfilm-fires-mandalorian-star-gina-carano-unacceptable?ref=goodoil.news) of the current political discourse to Nazi Germany on Twitter.
