# Police Abandon the Catch Part of Catch and Release

In an effort to stop having to incarcerate criminals only to have them released under this Government’s criminal friendly law and order policies, the Police have now [abandoned the catch part of their catch and release strategy.](https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/123751755/speeding-drivers-now-more-likely-to-get-police-pursuit-reprieve?ref=goodoil.news)

> Police will **no longer pursue drivers who are speeding, acting suspiciously or fleeing for no apparent reason** in a major shake up of controversial chase procedures.

> An internal police email leaked to *Stuff* advises staff not to pursue fleeing drivers unless the threat posed “outweighs the risk of harm by the pursuit”.

> The revised policy, which has not been publicly announced, was emailed on December 10, stating the need to “change a culture that is decades old”.

All criminals have to do now is bury the boot and the PoPo will abandon pursuit, letting criminals off the hook.

Perhaps this is a consequence of no longer having Holdens and instead relying on Skodas as patrol vehicles.

Are they taking strategy lectures from the French Army? They may as well put their hands in the air and just give up.

I suppose they’ll no longer need mufti cars now because all you have to do to avoid them is to speed up.

Perhaps hugs and finger-wagging are now Police tools to combat crime?

Ever since the Police went woke they’ve focused on being soft on criminals and hard on law-abiding citizens. They’ve clearly got it all the wrong way around.
