Interestingly, [Waatea Radio](https://waateanews.com/about-waatea/?ref=goodoil.news) is [50 per cent owned by the Waipareira Trust (founder John Tamihere), with the remaining 50 per cent owned by the Manukau Urban Maori Authority ](https://www.bizdb.co.nz/company/9429037426279/?ref=goodoil.news)(Willie Jackson was CEO until 2022).
