You’ve got to hand it to *Stuff*: it takes real chutzpah to break Betteridge’s Law of Headlines, while at the same time **pretending** to criticise the Ardern government — but really doing its dirty work.

First up: Betteridge’s Law of Headlines states that “Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word ‘No’”. But *Stuff*’s headline demands the answers **Yes** and **Hell, Yes**.

> Is New Zealand the new laughing stock of the travel world? Should it be?

*Stuff* starts off **pretending** to criticise Labour’s covid policies, in contrast to Australia. Noting that travel editor for the former Fairfax papers recently wrote that Australia risked becoming a laughing-stock over the glacial pace of its border re-opening.

> And yet Australia is streets ahead of New Zealand in terms of reopening to the world \[…\] New Zealanders, meanwhile, still have no idea when they will be allowed to travel overseas again. Hell, Aucklanders still don’t know when they’ll be able to leave their own city.

It’s a common tactic of communist regimes that they or their media mouthpieces rarely say openly what they’re about. Instead, you have to read between the lines to find the real agenda. Likewise, if you think that *Stuff* is burning the Ardern government, you need to pay attention to what they say, further down where most people won’t read it. This is where they’re hiding the meaty turd in the shit sandwich the government’s pet bureaucrats and academics are quietly working to unleash on New Zealand.

> Public health expert **Nick Wilson** said \[…\] “Of course we also need a much tighter internal border around Auckland so that the rest of New Zealand has more time to boost vaccination levels – and even to start vaccinating five-to-11-year-olds.”

Aaaand there it is. Of course, it’s not exactly new news: the government has been signalling this for over a month, ever since Pfizer got the green-light to vaccinate very young children from the US FDA.

But they’re not finished yet.

> Te Punaha Matatini principal investigator **Shaun Hendy** said \[…\] more than 90 per cent of the eligible population should be vaccinated before Kiwis are allowed to travel overseas again.

Hendy, along with **Michael Plank**, is also quietly cheer-squadding to [vaccinate children under 12](http://Sciblogs | ‘If you want summer, get vaccinated’ – Jacinda Ardern sets the target for re-opening New Zealand). **Ashley Bloomfield** is [also hint-hinting](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/northern-advocate/news/covid-19-delta-outbreak-auckland-set-to-ease-restrictions-next-week-waikato-moves-to-step-2-tomorrow/46NVVPNCWJU5NULA37MPUMK5YE/?ref=goodoil.news) that Pfizer will apply for approval in New Zealand.

Then *Stuff* really gets down to the serious business of shilling for Labour.

> While the seemingly glacial pace at which New Zealand is reopening to the world may seem frustrating, confusing or even laughable to some, experts believe our cautious, incremental approach is the right one.

So, if you want to get out of house arrest, it’s 90% vaccination, including kids as young as five. This is what, *“if you want summer, get vaccinated”* really means. The mainstream media are busily softening you up.
