# The BFD Comment of the Week

She’s a considerable pin; the one that can take the weight of not just the prime minister, but also her deputy, as they dance on its head while performing a less-than-impressive Dither, a dance whose moves include the sidestep and the swerve.

Embarrassed by yet another reversal in fortune her merry press gang have obfuscated and attempted to blur the import of Friday’s High Court ruling cancelling the Order objected to. They’ve pretended the ruling was several things it’s not: be it the right to uphold religious beliefs or the right of refusal to undergo medical procedures.

Cooke J ruled the Order unlawful because it purported to be a measure to limit the spread of Covid, but the advice received prior to decision-making was that mandatory vaccination was **not required** to produce the outcome sought. The justice makes that perfectly clear in his conclusion.

The ruling of Cooke is not, as the PM and her sycophants would have us believe, narrow in scope or relevant to very few, in proportion. The evidence that the mandates were promulgated **in spite of** the medical advice rather than **because of** said advice was the reason the good justice came to his conclusion.

The order is unlawful because mandatory vaccination was not a necessary move, and therefore a breach of the New Zealand Bill of Rights.

The clowns knew that, were told that, and went ahead anyway, arrogantly, breaking people’s rights to the opportunity of employment for no other reason than they wanted it so.

And that’s why the ruling is so important, almost completely unchallengeable, and such a very, very, poor look for Prime Minister Ardern.

She can keep dancing on the head of that pin, but she’s going to fall off, we know it, the (smarter) press know it, her followers know it, and she knows it. What a beautiful day.
