[Dramatic recovery of KiwiRail locomotive that fell into Picton Harbour](https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/dramatic-recovery-of-kiwirail-locomotive-that-fell-into-picton-harbour/JBEAUVLKTPON3LCCTPTT6WJ5A4/?ref=goodoil.news)

The *NZ Herald* in the above article reported that Hon Dr Nick Smith was “**a local politician**” but we are pretty sure that he was there in his capacity with Smith Cranes for whom he now works.

Picton is in the KAIKOURA Electorate and **Stuart Smith** is the local MP.

Nick has recently retired as a List MP based in Nelson. He held the NELSON Electorate for over 2 decades before the loss to a Labour Candidate in the 2020 election.
