# Things That Make Me Go Hmm

In a recent [Stuff article dated March 27th](https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/120619748/coronavirus-ministry-of-health-update-on-new-cases-in-new-zealand?ref=goodoil.news), Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield is quoted as saying “there were **37** individuals who had now recovered” from the coronavirus.

He also noted in the article that the definition of “recovered” was getting over symptoms and staying **symptom-free for a 14 day period.**

Here’s the difficulty for those of us who are awake: if we go back 14 days in New Zealand from March 27th (the date of the article) to March 13th, New Zealand only had **5** coronavirus cases, according to officials.

Something doesn’t add up.

***How can 37 individuals recover when only 5 were sick in the first place?***

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think we’re being told the full story here. Either that or Dr Bloomfield failed primary school maths!
