With Andrew Little’s drive to create a separate health system for Maori, I thought it would be interesting to see how ethnicity is defined.

Its clear in section 2.1 that one’s ethnicity is self-determined, and also your ethnicity can change over time!

People will be able to self identify as Maori if they wish to access the separate Maori Health provider.
