- Description: 45 times in a year is far from ‘random’.

Another day, another ‘random’ stabbing in Melbourne – and another instance of media and police telling you everything you need to know, by not telling you the most pertinent facts.

> [A man has been](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-25/woman-stabbed-boy-assaulted-in-melbourne-cbd-attack/107076598?ref=goodoil.news) arrested after a mother and a child were attacked outside the Victoria Police headquarters in Melbourne's CBD.
>
> Police have been told the woman was walking with her three children outside the police station on Spencer Street about 1pm when a man punched her 10-year-old son in the upper body.
>
> Superintendent **Zorka Dunstan** said the man initially walked off but turned around and grabbed the mother, putting her in a headlock.
>
> “He started to stab her repeatedly with a pair of scissors,” Superintendent Dunstan said.

Yet again, just “a man” of no particular description. Well, not completely un-described.

> She said police quickly arrived on the scene and arrested a 27-year-old Sunshine West man.

No doubt just your average Craig or Darren from Sunshine West.

Or maybe not…

> [A 27 year old migrant](https://x.com/Ryandally08/status/2092125524717879329?ref=goodoil.news) from Sunshine West was arrested on the spot. Police seized a pair of scissors. The parties were not known to each other.

As usual, we have to turn to social media for the really important information.
Lest anyone be tempted to cry, ‘social media misinformation!’, we have the receipts – in the form of photos taken by members of the public. Where they’re safe from the official misinformation tactic of blurring out inconvenient telling features.

> [“It's completely random](https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-25/woman-stabbed-boy-assaulted-in-melbourne-cbd-attack/107076598?ref=goodoil.news), we’re horrified by it.”

Ah, yes, just “completely random”. To be added to the long, long list of similarly “completely random” attacks. Forty-five random attacks in Melbourne in just year, including 12 stabbings. Once might be random. Twice might be a coincidence. Forty-five times is a pattern.

Even more astonishing is that this attempted murder was perpetrated literally right in front of the biggest police station in Victoria.

> Superintendent Dunstan revealed she saw the incident from her office window.
>
> “One of the boys who was 11 years old, he was crying ... I gave him a hug because I was impacted just watching how he reacted.”

Meanwhile, the police have some useful advice on How Not to Get Stabbed by a Migrant.

• Avoid distractions like phones when walking in busy areas.

• Stay in well-lit, populated places, especially at night.

Remember when feminists screeched blue murder when, after **Eurydice Dixon** was raped and murdered by an Aboriginal man in 2018, police advised young women to be similarly cautious? *How dare you! We have the right to go where and when we like!* ran the outraged chorus.

Then the stabby migrants flooded in.

Update

Turns out that ol’ “social media misinformation” was right again: the suspect has been identified as Liberian immigrant Jerry Sowood.

Oh, and his victims were in Melbourne to get brain cancer treatment for the 10 year old.
