Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

Here are some cover versions of one song along with the original, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.

“Come Away Melinda” is a song written by Fred Hellerman and Fran Minkoff. It was first released by Harry Belafonte on his 1963 album “Streets I Have Walked”.

It has been covered by several acts including:

Judy Collins on her 1964 album “Judy Collins #3”.

Time Rose on his 1967 album “Tim Rose”

Uriah Heep on their 1970 album “Very ‘Eavy….Very ‘Umble”.

UFO on their 1970 album “UFO 1”.

Dave White Band on the 2000 tribute album “Heepsteria! Tribute to Uriah Heep”.
