Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

Here are some cover versions of one song along with the original, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.

“Black Sheep of the Family’ is a song written by Steve Hammond and first released as a 1970 single by Chris Farlowe with The Hill.

It has been covered by several acts including:

Quatermass on their 1970 debut album “Quatermass”.

Fat Mattress as the B – side to the 1970 single “Highway”.

Rainbow on their 1975 debut album “Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow”.

Kevin Dubrow on his 2004 album “In For The Kill”.
