# Who Did It Better?

Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

Here are some cover versions of one song along with the original, let us know in the comments which is your favourite, or if you don’t like any of them.

“Party” is a song written by Jessie May Robinson and first released by Elvis Presley on his 1957 album “Loving You”.

It has been covered by several acts including:

Wanda Jackson on her self-titled 1958 album.

Johnny O’Keefe on his 1960 album “Shakin’ At The Stadium Vol 2”

The Spencer Davis Group on their 1974 album “Living in a Back Street”.

Mud on their 1975 album “Mud Rock Vol II”.

Slade on their 1985 album “Crackers – The Christmas Party Album”

Robert Plant on the 1990 charity album “The Last Temptation Of Elvis” and his subsequent 2003 album “Six Sixty To Timbuktu”.

Paul McCartney on his 1999 album “Run Devil Run”.
