Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

“The Boys Are Back In Town” is a song written by Phil Lynott and first released as a 1976 single.

It has been covered by several acts including:

Bon Jovi on the 1989 charity album “Stairway To Heaven/Highway To Hell”.

The Cardigans as the B-Side to their 1995 single “Hey! Get Out Of My Way”.

Happy Mondays released their take as a 1999 single.

Atlanta Rhythm Section on their 2007 album “Anthology – Greatest & Latest”.

Molly Hatchet on their 2009 album “Southern Rock Masters”.
