Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

“Knock On Wood” is a song written by Steve Cropper and Eddie Floyd. It was first released by Eddie Floyd in 1966 as a single.

It has been covered by many acts including:

Georgie Fame on his 1967 EP “Knock On Wood”.

The American Breed included it on their 1967 self titled debut album.

Buddy Guy on his 1968 live album “This Is Buddy Guy!”.

David Bowie on his 1974 album “David Live”.

Eric Clapton on his 1985 album “Behind The |Sun”.

Seal on his 2006 album “Soul”.
