Many songs get covered or re-interpreted, the covers often being more successful than the original.

“Brand New Cadillac” is a song written by Vince Taylor and recorded by Vince Taylor and his Playboys in 1959.

It has been covered by many acts including:

The Defenders on their 1965 single release.

The Downliners Sect on their 1966 album “The Rock Sect’s In”.

The Wild Angels on their 1972 album “Out At Last”.

The Clash included it on their 1979 album “London Calling”.

The Brain Setzer Orchestra put their spin on it in their 1994 debut self titled album.
