Media are divided on whether or not Simon Bridges will remain as the leader of the National party.
Tova O’Brien from Newshub says that [the rot has set in for Simon Bridges](https://criticalpolitics.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c73e3fe9e4a0d897f8fa2746e&id=46d6ef536d&e=b77e942750&ref=goodoil.news) and that [Judith Collins is tempering talk of a National leadership coup](https://criticalpolitics.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c73e3fe9e4a0d897f8fa2746e&id=9625fe8c18&e=b77e942750&ref=goodoil.news).

On One News Jessica Mutch disagrees, saying that [despite Judith Collins polling higher as preferred PM, he is safe as National leader for now](https://criticalpolitics.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c73e3fe9e4a0d897f8fa2746e&id=63ec9294bd&e=b77e942750&ref=goodoil.news). Claire Trevett at A Newspaper thinks that the polls mean that time is fast running out for Bridges, and Jason Walls says that [political commentators are saying that his low personal polling means the end of Simon Bridges](https://criticalpolitics.us16.list-manage.com/track/click?u=c73e3fe9e4a0d897f8fa2746e&id=a7bd5dd3a4&e=b77e942750&ref=goodoil.news).
