A Good Reason to Vote for Wayne Brown

good reason to vote

Table of Contents

A sneaky and underhand Newshub hit job has given every Aucklander a good reason to vote for Wayne Brown for the Auckland mayoralty. They had their cameras rolling prior to an interview with him, as well as a live microphone, and then proceeded to bait him prior to the interview hoping he’d give them a gotcha moment. It worked, but not in the way they’d like to think it did.

Auckland Mayoral candidate Wayne Brown has been caught on camera calling a NZ Herald journalist a “prick”, saying he was going to glue “little pictures of him on all the urinals” so people could “pee on him” if elected.

Brown made the comments while Newshub was filming with him this week and were played during “Newshub Nation’s” Auckland mayoral debate on Saturday.

His comments were directed at NZ Herald journalist Simon Wilson.

Newshub

Let’s get a few things straight here. He wasn’t caught on camera: he was ambushed by a thoroughly dishonest Newshub reporter in an off-the-record conversation that they then used.

Secondly, Simon Wilson is a prick. Like most Herald journalists he is utterly dishonest about his political leanings, which for the record are hard left. He used to edit a communist broadsheet, which unsurprisingly went broke. He is a lock for the left and has produced some of the most inane drivel promoting a car-less, pro-cycling agenda ad nauseam in the pages of the once mighty but now shabby NZ Herald. He is a propagandist and nothing more than that.

His hit piece where he graded sitting councillors by how much they had sucked up to Phil Goff is a case in point. A more biased piece couldn’t have been written.

If Wayne Brown wants to stick photos of him in urinals for us to piss on, then he’s got my vote… and I suspect many other people’s votes.

Wayne Brown could cement that even further by making one of his first jobs as mayor to draft a motion that the Auckland Council  cease advertising in the Herald. That newspaper plays politics, and has for some time, so either they start standing for election, or start being honest players. Taking away their money until they reform would be a good start.

The NZ Herald used to be a paper of record. Now they are a shabby shadow of their former selves. They need to understand that so long as they continue to want to manufacture the news instead of reporting it, their malign influence will continue to wane. People are sick of crusading journalists inserting their opinions into news gathering.

Newshub are no better. They’ve always had a poor reputation when it comes to reporting and this case just cements that belief. They are paid shills of the government and are showing it with these shabby hit pieces.

If we’ve learned anything from this episode, it is that you can’t trust Newshub or the Herald to be honest players.
