A Hot Summer’s Day Is Now Climate Change According to Stuff

Table of Contents

Stuff is just loving the pimping of climate catastrophe on their site. The latest thing attributed to climate change is a hot summer’s day:

The BFD.

Apparently Auckland, presumably due to climate change as they’ve plonked the story under that category, has used a lot of water.

When you click through that is precisely what they’ve changed the headline to:

The BFD.

Reading the article is a real eye-opener. We find out that a hot day happened…in summer!

A hot day on Thursday saw Aucklanders break the record for most water used in one day, with 538 million litres used.

The previous record was set on February 13, 2019 and was about three million litres less.

Whangaparaoa saw a high of 28 degrees Celsius and Watercare head of  production Peter Rogers said the hotter it got, the more water was used.

Well I never! We had a hot day in summer. What we also know is that the head of production at Watercare, Peter Rodger is obviously and categorically a dunce.

Why?

Because as head of production he should know that Whangaparaoa has a very high percentage of people still on tank water. Ask anyone who lives there; I did, I checked with SB. That’s right; even though the residents of Whangaparaoa pay the same rates as everyone else, many of them are still on tank water and also don’t get their rubbish collected by council provided services.

There hasn’t been any rain on Whangaparaoa for about 6 weeks and those tanks are running dry. Apart from the obvious lack of rain, you also know this by the queue of water-tankers at the tanker refill station on Karepiro Drive. A quick ring to the local water suppliers will find that there is currently a four-week waiting list for water deliveries.

You’d think the Stuff reporter would have checked that, or that the Watercare production manager would know this.

But no, what we get is useless information and the story categorised as climate change. I can’t wait for Stuff to declare the ocean is wet, and winter is colder than summer.

Meanwhile, it is still summer and there will be more hot days.
