The Labour Party, along with their lickspittles in the media – and Bryce Edwards, have been making a case of numerous conflicts of interest in this Government, notably around tobacco policy.
On Wednesday Winston Peters made an allegation that Ayesha Verrall was hiding a conflict of interest.
But in the last few days, it’s come to my attention that a close relative of Ayesha Verrall has been involved with, attending meetings, and has had access to papers and has been advising the Minister on this very topic over the past year, without declaring any conflict of interest. That is what’s rotten in this borough, and we are only just getting started, Minister. We are not going to leave off now. You're not going to get away with that sort of behaviour anywhere outside this House.

Ayesha Verrall and Chris Hipkins cried foul and then stated that this relative wasn’t a close relative.
