Elizabeth Warren is “Native American”. Golriz Gharaman is a “person of colour”. Lidia Thorpe is “black”. Eli Rubashkyn is a “woman”. These are the sort of obvious identity politics grifts that the left get away with from morning to night.
But, heaven help anyone on the right who tries to put over the same obvious lies.
When Australian Nationals senator Barry O’Sullivan announced that he was identifying as a woman, the left had a pink fit. The Greens’ Larissa Waters screeched that O’Sullivan should be “ashamed”. Blatantly contradicting the Greens policy of self-identification, Waters huffed that “Senator O’Sullivan has never shared and will never share the experience of any of those women.”
Well, yes. I think we’d all agree. That’s the point.
Now, an American politician is taking a big ol’ pink leaf from O’Sullivan’s glittery book.
A Republican Councilman from Indiana, Ryan Webb, announced he will now identify as a “woman of color.”
Well, I mean, if deathly pale Golly G can claim to be a “person of colour”, where does it end? In any case, if someone can choose an identity wildly at variance with their genetics, why stop at just the X and Y?
He said: “After much consideration I have decided to come out and finally feel comfortable announcing my true authentic self. It is with great relief that I announce to everyone that I identify as a woman and not just any woman but as a woman of color as well.
“I guess this would make me gay/lesbian as well since I am attracted to women. Whew, that felt good to finally get that out there and start living life as my true self. I’m excited to bring some diversity to the county council. Until today we didn’t have any females of color or LGBTQIAPC+++ on the council. I’m glad that now we do!”
At the rate the left have been adding letters to their alphabet rainbow soup, a C is just as valid as the rest. He’s even remembered to include the left’s favourite letter, the P.
“To avoid confusion, everyone can continue to address me as Ryan or as Councilman Webb. I will also retain my my preferred pronouns of He/Him, however, this will in no way diminish my true identity as a woman of color.
“I’m excited to be a vocal partner of the LGBTQIAPC+++ movement. Who knows just how far we can take things, but I’m just glad that this is now possible so ANYONE can be ANYTHING or ANYONE they want.
Naturally, this brave woman of colour has been attacked and bullied by racists and other bigots on the left.
“Our family has been receiving violent threats throughout the day from intolerant liberals who refuse to accept my decision to live my life however I choose. I don’t really see how an interview will improve the situation.
“It is unfortunate, but a group called Indiana Progressives has decided to organize a hate and harassment campaign against me and my family by publishing my address and encouraging people to unlawfully congregate at my home.
