If you’ve paid careful attention – because the legacy media won’t go out of their way to tell you about it – there has been a spate of fake “hate crimes” sweeping the US recently. It’s basic economics, really: demand for “racism” is clearly outstripping supply. America just ain’t racist enough for the left any more.
Luckily for the left, selfless activists are more than willing to make up for the shortfall in American racism by just, well, making some up.
A former master’s student at a small California college was arrested Monday for allegedly reporting 10 fake racist threats.
Anayeli DominguezPena, 25, of Ontario, California, claimed she received the threats last year via social media and email. She also reported finding a smoking backpack in her car and being physically assaulted by a man wearing a ski mask on campus.
Her reports caused the University of La Verne to close for a day last May.
However, the La Verne Police Department said Monday that DominguezPena had actually been threatening herself, as well as other students in her unofficial “social justice” group[…]
In case the shortage of actual racism isn’t enough to spur activists to do their civic duty, California offers other incentives as well.
Besides allegedly making the false accusations, DominguezPena filed a claim with the California Victim Compensation Board, Nishimura said.
The CalVCB provides assistance in the form of grants to victims of crimes.
“We found the suspect applied for benefits, signed forms under penalty of perjury and tried to get victim compensation benefits from the state,” Nishimura said.

Another race-baiter also tried to kill two birds with one stone, by trying to profit from a fake “hate crime”.
A Mississippi man has been arrested and charged with insurance fraud and evidence tampering after he claimed he awoke one morning to find his two cars spray-painted with racist graffiti and the word “Trump.”
Trumaine Foster was jailed on Feb. 28, more than three weeks after he called police in the Memphis, Tennessee, suburb of Southaven, Mississippi, to report his car and pickup truck had been vandalized.
His truck was emblazoned in two places with the N-word and the car was spray-painted with the phrase “Leave [N-word]” and “Trump.”

Police arrested a former NFL player on Thursday for allegedly staging a hate crime at his own restaurant and ice cream shop near Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Gwinnett County police, Edawn Coughman, 31, trashed his businesses and spray-painted “MAGA” as well as swastikas and slurs on the walls to make it appear he was the victim of a racially motivated burglary. He was charged with false reporting of a burglary, insurance fraud and concealing a license plate.

A 41-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday and was being held on $1,000 bail for carving the words “white pride” into the sidewalk in front of a black-owned fitness center in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Mahagany Teague, 41, was charged of committing vandalism of less than $1,000 in front of DC Fitness and held at the Washington County Detention Center.

Darnell Byrd-McPherson, volunteer mayor of Lamar, released a statement in early February alleging someone had vandalized her vehicles that week in an apparent hate crime[…]
McPherson told Newsweek that she and her husband found a “yellow, sticky substance” on the cars[…]“It ignited some fear in my spirit,” she said. “My God, who would do that?”
Local and state police investigated and identified the substance as pollen.
