Anyone Keeping Track of the Clinton Body Count?

Jeffrey Epstein

This title is one of many tweets following the suicide in a Manhattan jail on Saturday 10 August of billionaire paedophile and convicted sex offender, 66-year-old Jeffrey Epstein, who has links to the rich and famous, particularly the Clintons who are long suspected of criminal skullduggery.

For years, rumour abounded that the Clintons murdered serious hindrances to success in their journey to the White House which ended in 2001.

Allegations of murder by the Clintons have played in right-wing fever swamps since the 1990s, beginning with the suicide of Vince Foster and continuing through to the completely random 2016 murder of Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich.

According to a history and debunking first published by Snopes in 1998, the body count meme originated in 1993 with Indianapolis lawyer and militia movement activist Linda Thompson, who compiled a list of 34 people connected to the Clintons who had passed away and titled it, “The Clinton Body Count: Coincidence or the Kiss of Death?” William Dannemeyer, a notoriously homophobic then-retired Congressman from Orange County, California, picked up the list, trimmed it to 24, and sent it Congressional leadership in 1994 as he ran for the US Senate.

Thompson provided — by her own admission — “no direct evidence” that the Clintons were responsible for any of the deaths, and Snopes provides a comprehensive account of each death, most of which were easily explained heart attacks, plane crashes, or suicides.
The most notable name on the list is Vince Foster, the deputy White House counsel who died by suicide on July 20, 1993.

Foster was a colleague of Hillary Clinton’s at the Rose Law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, and came to Washington, DC as part of the crew of Arkansas loyalists who joined the Clinton administration. In the job, Foster helped conduct vetting of administration officials and said he felt like he had failed the president when Clinton’s first two picks for attorney general were forced to withdraw because of revelations that they hired undocumented immigrants.

Foster also became wrapped up in a scandal surrounding the firing of staff in the White House travel office and in legal disputes about access to records about Hillary Clinton’s health care task force, earning him a bevy of harsh Wall Street Journal editorials.

Overwhelmed by these circumstances, and clearly struggling from depression, Foster died by gun suicide. But almost immediately, conservatives jumped on the idea that Foster was murdered.

Those fanning the flames included the Journal editorial board, National Review’s Richard Brookhiser, and then-Rep. Dan Burton, who tried to do some amateur ballistics research on the case by shooting a large fruit in his backyard. Reports differ as to whether Burton shot a watermelon, a pumpkin, or a cantaloupe.

Epstein was awaiting trial on charges of sex trafficking minors and had been on suicide watch after an apparent suicide attempt on July 24rd but was taken off suicide watch 6 days later.

The former hedge-fund manager and registered sex offender may have kept his client list under wraps, but he often bragged of his elite social circle that included presidents and Hollywood stars.

Epstein, who ran a business out of the US Virgin Islands, was known for jet-setting with the likes of former President Bill Clinton, and Prince Andrew (the third child of the UK’s Queen Elizabeth). “I invest in people – be it politics or science,”

Epstein was known to say, according to New York Magazine. “It’s what I do.”

Besides his personal predilection for copious sex with young women, what Epstein provided to his wealthy clientele is unknown, but his untimely death sent media into a speculation frenzy about them and whether the beans were about to be spilt in Epstein’s upcoming trial.

“According to a July 22 article from NY Magazine’s Intelligencer, a number of royals and royal connections were among Epstein’s contacts. That includes Prince Andrew; Prince Andrew’s then-wife, Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York; and Charles Althorp, Princess Diana’s brother.

According to Intelligencer, all three were named in Epstein’s black book; Ferguson and Prince Andrew were also named in his private jet log.

[…] In 2007, Epstein pleaded guilty to charges of solicitation of prostitution and procurement of minors for prostitution in Florida.
Exactly what services Epstein provided is not known, but his predilection for sex with younger women was.

Donald Trump was implicated by his previous relationship with Epstein.

“THE FUTURE PRESIDENT CLAIMED IN 2002 THAT HE HAD A LONG FRIENDSHIP WITH EPSTEIN. “I’VE KNOWN JEFF FOR 15 YEARS. TERRIFIC GUY,” TRUMP SAID, ACCORDING TO NEW YORK MAGAZINE. “HE’S A LOT OF FUN TO BE WITH. IT IS EVEN SAID THAT HE LIKES BEAUTIFUL WOMEN AS MUCH AS I DO, AND MANY OF THEM ARE ON THE YOUNGER SIDE. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT – JEFFREY ENJOYS HIS SOCIAL LIFE.”

No doubt, associating with a convicted felon doesn’t do anyone’s career any good and Trump was quick to distance himself after Epstein’s conviction.

“According to Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, Trump now believes the crimes Epstein was charged with are “completely unconscionable and obviously criminal.” She also labelled them “disgusting,” according to a report from the Associated Press.”

“The president told me this morning he hasn’t talked to Epstein, he doesn’t think he’s talked to him or seen him in 10 or 15 years,” Conway added.”

Epstein’s death may be a relief to some, but to say it was at the hands of the Clintons, with a lack of hard evidence, is to draw a very long bow indeed.
