Oh, you sweet summer child. There’s always another couple of millimetres under the snake’s belly for the legacy media to squirm.
Such as flying a reporter all the way to Arkansas to bait a loony with almost no followers, about an Australian politician he’d probably never heard of until the legacy media shill put words into his mouth.
Pauline Hanson is fuming after being endorsed by a US-based white supremacist and Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan for having great ideas.
The One Nation leader slammed Channel 9 as “disgusting” on Tuesday after it included the material in a new documentary called Trump’s America: The Divided States on YouTube.
Thomas Robb, a longtime leader of the Ku Klux Klan who also claims to be a Christian pastor, previously stated that he doesn’t believe black people can be saved and go to heaven.
He is the current Grand Wizard of the Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, also known as the Knights Party, having taken control of the organisation since 1989.
That would be the organisation with barely a few thousand members across the entire United States. That is: Channel Nine deliberately sought out a group representing just 0.001 per cent of Americans to comment on Australian politics. This is how low the legacy media will sink.
And that is what nearly $70 million of our taxes – Anthony Albanese’s copycat of Jacinda Ardern’s PIJF – buys us.
This is the same legacy media that sacked Karl Stefanovic for interviewing Tommy Robinson, patting itself on the back for seeking out the leader of an almost completely defunct terrorist group.
There is something seriously wrong with a media organisation that believes Australians need to hear what the Ku Klux Klan thinks about Australian politics and chooses to promote those views.
Channel Nine should be ashamed of itself.
Nine claims Robb raised the subject of Hanson “unprompted”, even though the interview shows the muckraking reporter bringing her up.
It is a masterful display of the journalistic equivalent of a shell game. By dragging in a caricature of American extremism, the network hopes to smear Hanson by association, hoping the viewer is too dim to notice that an endorsement from a lunatic in Arkansas carries as much weight as a political opinion from a garden gnome. You can drag a camera crew into any backwater on the planet, pay for a fringe fanatic’s lunch and prompt him to praise anyone you choose. It tells the public nothing about Pauline Hanson’s policy platform and everything about Nine’s desperate, dying need to manufacture a scandal where none exists.
Yet, where is this aggressive, tax-funded investigative zeal when it comes to the real, street-level extremists operating in our own backyard? We have seen the rise of the modern Red Guards, violent socialist cells that don’t just lurk in obscure corners of the American South but openly parade through our capital cities.
Consider the ‘student protests’ orchestrated by the radical group Socialist Alternative. These aren’t concerned youth: they are a political vanguard, a cadre of agitators who incite children to abandon their studies to participate in mobs against One Nation. We know exactly who they are and what they believe because they tell us. They are the same figures who have defended political violence as a legitimate tool of their trade. When these agitators descend on the streets, they don’t just chant slogans – they issue chilling threats to kill political opponents.
Why hasn’t Channel Nine packed a camera crew off to film these domestic radicals with the same prurient interest they showed in Arkansas? Perhaps because the vitriol flowing from the mouths of these revolutionary socialists matches the editorial slant of the managerial class.
And let us not forget the moral rot festering in these same hard-left circles. The media consistently turns a blind eye to the extremist organisers within these networks who advocate for the abolition of age of consent laws. When the ‘progressive’ vanguard champions the destruction of the very foundations of the family and child protection, the legacy media falls into a deafening, complicit silence.
It is a grotesque double standard. They will chase a phantom Grand Wizard across the globe to sully a centre-right politician, yet they afford the most dangerous, anti-social elements of our own society the protection of institutional indifference. They are not reporting the news but curating a hate-filled narrative to defend their own sinking ship.
Channel Nine isn’t just failing at journalism, it’s actively aiding the subversion of the society that pays its bills. They want you terrified of a man in a sheet while the true wreckers are wearing hammer-and-sickle T shirts and keffiyehs and burning down the house from the inside.
