Bolger Thought He Was Secure Too

Jim Bolger thought he was secure when he went overseas as Prime Minister, only to be met by my father telling him Jenny Shipley had the numbers to roll him. Chris Hipkins now dances with the same perils as he swans off to the UK.

Claire Trevett has written an article at the NZ Herald about Chris Hipkins, the polls and the chances of being rolled by his caucus while he is away.

Hipkins has stated that he has the confidence of the caucus, but then so did Jim Bolger when he headed off to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in November 1997.
