As Judith said, bring on 2023. This election was never going to be fought on policy. The Labour-led government, through tragedy and circumstance, had centre stage for almost its entire term in office. It stole the oxygen from opposition parties by presenting a leader whose only asset was emotional manipulation. And she exploited it brilliantly.

The youth vote, carefully groomed through their Marxist indoctrination, would have accounted for a large proportion of new left-leaning voters in the cities. The rest have been conditioned to accept co-dependency as their emotional template. It’s more desirable to have mum look after them rather than leave home and make their own way in the world.

The National Party contributed enormously to their own downfall. Its conduct leading up to the election was abysmal, appalling and downright self-destructive. Judith Collins was on her own as the rest, with a few exceptions, were lazy and unequivocally disengaged from the process. Gerry Brownlee has reached his use-by date and must go. I believe Nicola Willis should be the new deputy and Dr Shane Reti as number three.

A total cleanout at HQ has to happen. They deserved the result they got. David Seymour proved the centre-right can perform, which, in itself, only exposed the appalling lack of traction National could generate. Act is the new National and deservedly so. If the Greens and the Maori Party can win electoral seats whilst National bleeds itself dry that says it all.

On a positive note, NZ First has gone and so has Tamati Coffey. For a Labour MP to lose a Maori seat during a Labour landslide must be the ultimate humiliation.
