Don’t be fooled by the smiling kids, playdough, crayons, candy floss, sausage sizzle and international haka. Or the live music, massage, first aid and art & craft tents. Or even the glowing reports from the police. While this might look like thousands of everyday kiwis and people from all races and nationalities, peacefully standing for freedom of choice, bodily autonomy and human rights, ‘Camp Freedom’ is not what it seems.
What we actually have in the grounds of Parliament is a foreign-funded, conspiracy theory/misinformation-fuelled occupation of far-right, white supremacist, neo-nazi, anti-semitic, islamophobic, anti-science, anti-vaccine, Trump flag-waving QAnonites who use their children as human shields. These people are a fringe minority. They are bullies and they hold unacceptable dangerous views. They do not represent New Zealand.
