As the media have collaborated to bombard the populace with environmental and climate doom propaganda, it is only fair and reasonable to hold their feet to the fire (as it were) and examine past media promoted predictions that have failed to materialise.
From The Independent: October 20, 2009
A few months after Charlie the prince proclaimed we only had 96 months, The UK PM decided he had better get in on the alarmism.
There are now fewer than 50 days to set the course of the next 50 years and more. So, as we convene here, we carry great responsibilities, and the world is watching. If we do not reach a deal at this time, let us be in no doubt: once the damage from unchecked emissions growth is done, no retrospective global agreement, in some future period, can undo that choice. By then it will be irretrievably too late.
This was in the context of the Copenhagen climate bunfest where a deal simply had to be done according to Gordon.
So what did happen at Copenhagen?
The Copenhagen Agreement is a document that delegates at the 15th session of the Conference of Parties (COP 15) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change agreed to “take note of”. It is not legally binding and does not commit countries to agree to a binding successor to the Kyoto Protocol.
Sounds like an incredibly worthwhile use of fossil fuel flying all the delegates to Copenhagen.
