Know someone by their friends, as the saying goes. When you’re being lauded by Hamas, you’ve got some very, very, bad friends indeed: what does it say about you? Australia’s clueless, venal Prime Minister and the odious foreign minister are positively basking in the praise of the world’s worst people.
That says all we need to know.
Hamas has celebrated Anthony Albanese’s move to recognise a Palestinian state, saying the decision is vindication of its October 7 terror attack on Israel.
In a statement provided to Nine newspapers, Hamas co-founder Hassan Yousef said he welcomed Australia’s decision to recognise a Palestinian state and rejected calls for the terror group to put down its arms.
In other words, Albanese’s so-called ‘conditions’ for ‘recognition’ are an utter fantasy and everyone knows it.
But student-politics fantasising is this government’s sole compass. Reality, let alone morality, doesn’t enter into it.
The flaw in the Albanese-Wong proposition is that early Palestinian recognition creates the opportunity to achieve the two-state solution. They are being too smart by half.
No, they’re being as stump-dumb as they are disgusting. Neither of the combatants in this Hamas-launched war has even the least interest in a two-state solution. However much Israelis may have deluded themselves that they could live alongside a ‘Palestinian’ state, those scales were ripped from their eyes with unbelievable savagery on October 7, 2023.
As for the Arabs of Gaza and the West Bank, they’ve never had the least interest in a two-state solution. They violently rejected it as soon as it was offered in 1948, instead preferring to launch war after war of would-be extermination against Israel. That they’ve lost every single one hasn’t yet been sufficient to drive home the message. But then, a population of in-breds with a collective IQ of around 70 cannot be expected to be the fastest learners.
They’re practically geniuses compared to Albanese and Wong.
Anthony Albanese says he “excludes” Hamas from playing a role in a future Palestinian state, rejecting polling that shows support for the terror group in Gaza and the West Bank sitting at 60 per cent […]
When pressed on how Hamas could be removed from a future state, Mr Albanese said: “We exclude terrorists. We exclude Hamas.”
Oh, well that settles it. I’m sure they’ll pay as much attention to him as they do to some teary TikToker begging them to end the war.
Does this utter clown ever listen to himself?
Here is the deal: Australia and Western nations are delivering the recognition prize upfront and hoping Palestinians then deliver their end of a supposed bargain. It is profoundly optimistic and deeply flawed. It denies the repeated story of Middle East politics.
The upshot is two rewards are on offer: Hamas is being rewarded for its violence and intransigence and the Palestinian Authority is being rewarded for its sustained failures and incompetence.
Well, sustained failures and incompetence is something Albanese understands only too well.
