Well, the US Democrats are nothing if not consistent: a century and a half ago, they started a civil war to defend their access to cheap labour. They’re threatening to do it again.
Just ask them: “These are the people that are our childcare providers,” says Rep Norma Torres of California. “These are the people that are cleaning our hotel rooms.”
Threaten wealthy Californians with losing their cheap maids and gardeners and they’re almost as mad as a 19th-century Virginian faced with losing their cheap cotton-pickers.
“These are the people that are cooking our food. These are our nurses. These are our teachers, our school principals. So we have to look at the humanity of the people that the president is utilizing as a political prop to attack the politics of a state that did not vote for him and has rejected the Radical Republican agenda of Project 2025,” Torres said.
Actually, we’re looking at the humanity of people who literally argue, ‘Without illegal immigration, who will cook our food?’ We’re just not finding it.

She then went into how reliant American society is on a subclass of workers with no legal status, saying “but the short of it all is that the food that you eat, and the home that you live in was probably brought to you by someone who is an immigrant.”
An American society reliant on a subclass with no legal status and who work for subsistence? Where have we heard that before?

Sometimes, the best thing you can do to show up the left is just let them talk.
The woman, whose clip was endorsed by a sitting senator, then lamented the loss of tax revenue that would come from the removal of illegal immigrants working unregulated, low wage jobs. She also offered concern about long waits at restaurants should those restaurants be forced to hire American workers.
Her concern didn’t end with the culinary deprivations of her well-heeled friends and neighbors but extended to how hard it would be to find people to drive them around to and from these restaurants. “You’re going to see a shortage in Uber and Lyft drivers,” she said, “delivery order people. And you’re going to see prices for meat, seafood and dairy all go up at your grocery store. She implored Americans to be “selfish” in their advocacy for illegal immigrants to remain in the US.
Selfishly wanting slave labour? That’s a Democrat deal.

Texas Rep Jasmine Crockett said in April […] “The fact is ain’t none of y’all trying to go and farm right now,” the crowd laughed and she gave them an incredulous pause. “Okay, so I’m lying?”
More likely you’re just stupid and ignorant. And more than a little bit racist, if you think it’s OK to exploit Hispanic labour.
But, then, that’s the Democrats for you: always wanting their slaves to keep them in the lifestyle they feel entitled to.
