Dutton to Schools: Stay Woke, Go Broke

Opposition leader proposes cutting funding for schools peddling woke agendas.

There’ll be no woke, here. The Good Oil. Photoshop by Lushington Brady.

One gun you can bet Labor will be pulling out during the election campaign is that Peter Dutton is ‘copying Donald Trump’. If only.

Unfortunately, the media have so poisoned the well with their Orange Man Bad gibberish that a great many Australians will buy the scare tactic. Even though they’d almost certainly agree with most of his signature policies: anti-wokeism and deportations for criminal aliens. The tightrope Dutton has to walk is selling those extremely popular policies without spooking the media-deranged horses.

He’s giving it his first go.

Peter Dutton has signalled he will use federal education funding to quell progressive agendas in the nation’s classrooms, saying he wants to “condition” taxpayer dollars headed to the states.

The Opposition Leader told the Australian at the beginning of this election year that one of his priorities would be to challenge “woke” agendas in schools.

It has since been revealed that school teachers are being expected to incorporate Aboriginal dance into maths, despite indigenous students falling behind in numeracy.

Not to mention the gender whisperers secretly grooming children to ‘transition’ without their parents’ knowledge and schools that have literally made boys apologise for being male and white. You can bet the HR Harridans in education are just salivating to brow-beat fed-up boys with Netflix’s racist, misandrist taradiddle, Adolescence.

Peter Dutton says he wants students at high school and university to receive education that “reflect community standards”, signalling a crackdown on left-wing agendas in teaching.

“I support young Australians being able to think freely, being able to assess what is before them and not being told and indoctrinated by something that is the agenda of others and that is the approach we would take,” the Opposition Leader said.

Dutton is planning to put taxpayers’ money where his mouth is. Why, after all, should taxpayers pay for left-wing radicals to teach their children to hate them and their country?

Late on Monday night, Mr Dutton went further and flagged tying funding to assurances from state education departments and schools that they would teach curriculum basics and not veer into an “agenda that comes out of universities”.

“The commonwealth doesn’t own or run a school … but we do provide funding to the state governments and we condition that funding,” he told Sky News […]

Peter Dutton says he wants to “prioritise restoring pride in our country again” and that pro-Palestinian protests on university campuses are “not conducive” with Australia’s interests.

The coalition leader slammed teachers and lecturers who had “been part of the protests on university campuses or on the streets of Sydney or Melbourne or Brisbane”.

We’ve all seen what happens when anti-Semites take over universities and children’s minds.

Naturally, the foaming lefties running the teacher’s unions are feigning outrage.

The peak public education union on Sunday also blasted Mr Dutton’s position. “We had almost a decade of the Coalition government attacking teachers, calling public school teachers duds and trying to reignite the Howard history wars,” Australian Education Union president Correna Haythorpe said.

Well, the school results speak for themselves. For decades, basic numeracy and literacy have steadily plummeted, even as taxpayers have pour tens of billions more into public schools.

If it’s not the teachers or the curriculum, then what?
