Nobody could fault Rachin Ravindra if he agreed with the reporter who concluded the Black Cap made batting look easy in Rawalpindi on Tuesday morning (NZT).
After all, back in the team after a nasty blow to the head forced him to miss two games, the left-hander sure looked at ease striking a match-winning ton in New Zealand’s Champions Trophy victory over Bangladesh.
Ravindra also had extra reason to crow, given the 25-year-old’s fourth ton at ICC ODI events moved him past Kane Williamson and Nathan Astle and atop the list of New Zealand players.
But that’s not how the ever modest Ravindra rolls.
“I don’t know if I made it look simple,” he replied to the local reporter, adding there were patches where Bangladesh dotted him up during his 105-ball 112 [sic].
“I think it’s the beauty of batting in one-day cricket especially, you go through ebbs and flows. With T20, you go have a bash and if it works out, great. If it doesn’t, it’s all good.”
