Just as well Sir Scott Dixon was still checking his emails despite the out of office being on.

In a fitting touch, the six-time Indy Car champion is on holiday in New Zealand, during his off-season, as his Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (KNZM) for services to motorsport was made public in the New Year Honours list.

“For me it’s just a massive honour, not something I would ever expect or even thought was ever going to be a possibility,” Dixon told Stuff.
