Joseph Parker says he has forgiven the nutritionist who was found to have caused the Kiwi boxer’s positive test for cocaine, according to an investigation from a doping agency.
The Kiwi former world heavyweight boxing champion had his drugs ban lifted this week and has been green-lighted to fight again after an excruciating enforced absence in his busy and fast-moving division.
The 34-year-old was handed a provisional suspension from Ukad, the UK Anti-Doping agency, after he failed a voluntary fight-day drugs test following his 11th round stoppage defeat to British heavyweight Fabio Wardley in London last October. The result had detected trace elements of cocaine in his system.
Ukad has laid the blame for the positive test on Parker’s nutritionist for the fight in a report which said he was a “regular user of cocaine”.
