Cliff Curtis was allegedly behind the wheel of a customised matte black Tesla that crashed into a parked taxi on the corner of Jellicoe and Halsey streets on September 23.

Hollywood actor Cliff Curtis was allegedly under the influence and driving recklessly when he crashed his Tesla on Auckland’s waterfront.

The 58-year-old film star, who’s appeared in big screen blockbusters such as Avatar, Once Were Warriors and Live Free or Die Hard, has been summonsed to appear in the Auckland District Court on charges of reckless driving and driving with excess blood alcohol.

Curtis was allegedly behind the wheel of a customised matte black Tesla that crashed into a parked taxi on the corner of Jellicoe and Halsey streets on September 23.

A person had to be cut out of the taxi before being transported to hospital in a serious condition. Another person was also taken to hospital in a moderate condition, while at least one other person suffered minor injuries.
