A woman whose fraud saw thousands of dollars siphoned from her victims has had her sentencing adjourned because she brought school-aged children with her, and no one could take care of them if she was sent to prison.
Olivia Hamilton appeared for sentencing at the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday after earlier pleading guilty to a raft of fraud-related charges, including obtaining by deception and causing loss by deception.
Stuff understands more than a dozen victims lost thousands of dollars to Hamilton’s offending.
Hamilton arrived at court on Wednesday afternoon with two school-aged children. No one else was with them to look after the kids.
