“When a tsunami appears, skip the paperwork and ‘get out of the way”

Chris Hipkins

Health Minister Chris Hipkins has not apologised to New Zealanders for the Government breaking the law for 9 days by locking them down and forcing businesses to close illegally.

Instead, today’s face of the day doubled down and tried to justify the Government breaching our human rights and breaking the law by comparing a virus that they had at least two months warning about with an unexpected Tsunami that appears with no warning at all.

Why wasn’t the paperwork started in January and put in place in February?

There is no excuse for the Government being unprepared. It is not acceptable for them to not apologise and shrug off breaking the law as if it is no big deal. Trying to justify the law-breaking with the inference that they had not had time to prepare so were justified in breaking the law and trampling all over our human rights is insulting our intelligence.
