When asked if he would now consider local government and a run at the mayoralty, Smith said he enjoyed what could be achieved in politics.
“But there’s also a part of it, with the leaks and the secret recordings and that nasty stuff, that occurs in both Parliament and local elections that doesn’t make it very attractive, so I’m not giving any consideration to a further career in politics.”
