Broadcaster Kate Hawkesby is leaving her Newstalk ZB show Early Edition, the station has confirmed.

Hawkesby will continue to host the show until November 24, but will continue her Friday morning slot on her husband Mike Hosking’s breakfast show.

She first joined Early Edition in 2017, replacing Rachel Smalley. Tim Dower will take over until the final show of 2023 on December 15.

NZME chief audio officer Jason Winstanley paid tribute to Hawkesby’s work over the last six years.
