I have chosen not to watch their interview as I regard it as nothing more than a soap opera akin to an episode of Days Of Our Lives. From the clips I have seen, it appears that Meghan (‘it’s all about me’) Markle has presented details which, while having some basis in fact, are presented in such a way as to suit her narrative. This woman knows full well what she is about and Harry is being carted along for the ride. When the wheels come off the wagon, as they undoubtedly will, Harry could well find himself in a ditch in a very uncomfortable position.
There is a lot more to Meghan Markle than meets the eye. Her life up until now paints a somewhat inglorious picture. She is an actress, but certainly she is far from being a Hollywood star. She displays the personality of a person of dubious intent. Those of us who have been around long enough to call a spade a spade can see right through her. If she were a book one would not have to read beyond the first page. She has removed herself from her family and succeeded in removing Harry from his. There is a word for people who act in this way: narcissistic. Through personal experience, I can now pick them a mile off.
Let’s look at a few examples from her interview. She said her passport was taken away. True; of course it was, as are all others belonging to members of the Royal Family. She said she never saw it again. That is untrue. She made many overseas trips during that time when she would have needed it.
She said she was given no help from inside the Palace. According to the Palace, the calibre of the team made available to Meghan was, sources say, a sign of how committed the Palace was to supporting her. Prince Harry was allegedly “intrinsically distrustful” of the institution and Meghan “just really didn’t want to know” when a team was assembled to help them with their transition.
There was some humour in the interview. She evidently had to google the National Anthem. Really? Where was her husband or doesn’t he know it either? She said that three or four days before the wedding they got married privately. This is untrue as it is not allowed under the Rules of the Church of England. If it had happened they would not have been allowed the royal wedding.
They claim they have no interest in the news, yet she was pretty quick to lodge a complaint with Ofcom over Piers Morgan’s remarks. Meghan says she’s very fond of the Queen but she’s certainly got a strange way of showing it. With Prince Philip ill in hospital, she could have at least postponed the interview. But that’s not how narcissists behave.
What we have here is a privileged couple living in a 14 million dollar mansion in California. The one wearing the pants in the family has an agenda. One of the traits of her type is to play the victim. They’re always the hurt one while at the same time they’re hurting others. Meghan is currently under investigation by the Palace for being abusive to her staff. A number have come forward to lay complaints. This ‘look at me’ interview is backfiring on her in spectacular fashion. Even as I write this a Herald headline has flashed on the screen saying Meghan and Harry’s popularity has slumped to a record low.
A post interview poll of 3,000 people in England found 55 per cent believed her to be “fame obsessed”. Just under half (47%) believe they should be stripped of their royal titles. Only 21 per cent believe they should be able to cash in on their royal titles. Harry believes the rest of his family are trapped. He’s right. Indeed they are. Trapped into a lifetime of duty and service to their people. They may need to modernise but no matter how much they modernise their raison d’être will not change. The alternative is a person akin to a Trump or a Biden.
I know which I’d rather have.
