Here we go again. Helen Keller could have written this script using Christy Brown’s left foot: notice that those tan beardy fellows have a tendency to go all “Allahu ackbar”, and the chorus of “RAAAACISM!!!!” screeches in unison. As Steve Sailer says, it’s not ‘racism’, it’s not ‘far right’, or any other swear-word – it’s noticing.
All of ‘Palestine’s’ Arab neighbours noticed long ago that inviting ‘Palestinian refugees’ into your midst is a recipe for violent trouble. That’s why no one will let them in, even in the midst of a bloody war. Australian opposition leader Peter Dutton, like most sensible Australians, can’t help noticing, either.
Cue the drearily predictable screeching.
Peter Dutton has escalated the domestic political contest over war in Gaza, calling for an outright ban on arrivals from the conflict zone in a captain’s call branded as ‘racist’ by Muslim groups.
Which is kind of rich, coming from a community where anti-Semitism is the near-universal norm.
In any case, it’s not ‘racist’ to notice that ‘Palestinians’ have a pretty dire record when it comes to terror and violence.
Speaking on Thursday morning, Mr Dutton defended his captain’s call but would not be drawn on whether he shared the position with his shadow cabinet colleagues, who the Australian understands were surprised by the decision.
“I’m not talking about internal discussions. It’s a discussion not for shadow cabinet to be honest,” Mr Dutton told Channel Nine.
“It’s a discussion with the national security team, and I’ve done that and it’s in our country’s best interests.”
But Labor isn’t concerned about the country’s best interests: it’s desperate to hang on to any chance of re-election. To do that, they have to grovel and toady to the Muslims who dominate its electoral heartland in Western Sydney. The Greens just hate Jews.
The move, condemned by Labor and the Greens, came as Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke scrambled to come up with a visa solution for more than 1300 Gazans already in Australia whose visitor permits are due to expire in coming weeks.
Tony Burke’s electorate has one of the highest Islamic populations of any in Australia, accounting for nearly one-quarter of the seats voters. More than 20 times the national average.
Just noticing.
Speaking of noticing, just how rigorous is the vetting process?
Updated figures reveal nearly 3000 visas have been granted to Gazans since the October 7 attacks on Israel, but more than 7100 applications from Gaza residents have been rejected.
Mr Burke vowed there would be “no compromise on national security”, but confirmed that face-to-face interviews were unable to be conducted with visa applicants in Gaza while Israel’s war against Hamas continued.
Not that that would have made any difference, with it being confirmed that supporting Hamas wouldn’t be grounds for rejection. Which makes you wonder what 7100 of them had to do to be rejected. Show up at the border carrying a severed head and shouting, “Gas the Jews”?
Oh, wait, that would fit them in perfectly in Sydney.
The Prime Minister declined to say whether an individual who supported a listed terrorist organisation such as Hamas would pass Australia’s character test.
That would be a ‘yes’, then.
He pointed Mr Dutton to Mr Burgess’s recent warning that “inflamed language” was ramping up the threat of terrorism.
Ah, yes: the old “Don’t call Muslims terrorists, or they might commit more terrorist attacks” gambit.
Do these loons ever listen to themselves?
