Attempting to argue with a mass-immigration spruiker is to open a portal to a hell of fallacies and all-round stupidity. There’s the ‘but the economy’ argument, which is fooling fewer people by the day, especially as mass immigration fuels inflation and the housing crisis. Even worse is ‘but the food!’ As if traditional, Anglo-European cuisine was so awful in the first place. Besides, if we want ethnic food so bad, we don’t have to import half the Third World for it, just a few chefs or recipe books would do the trick.
Even the dumbest leftist, too, is beginning to twig that hardly anyone is fooled by the ‘diversity is our strength’ lie. It never was true – Australia and New Zealand were far stronger when they were unified – and is less true by the day. It’s hardly a coincidence that the wealthy elites who blither about ‘diversity’ choose to live in the least diverse communities in the country. Even the Greens-voting numpties of Fitzroy won’t send their own kids to the local high school, populated almost entirely by Africans from the nearby Housing Commission projects.
Flailing around for anything to justify flooding the country with a million foreigners, year on year, they think they’ve hit on a winner with ‘but immigration built this country!’ which is yet another stupid argument, for two reasons.
Firstly, the sheer scale of mass immigration in recent years dwarfs anything in our history. It’s like arguing that a certain amount of fat is good for your health, so guzzling litres of fat at a time is awesome for your health. Secondly, the immigrants who indeed built this country were nothing like the immigrants deluging the place today.
Far from ‘diverse’, the immigrants who built the country were remarkably homogeneous. Up until the 1950s, immigrants were almost entirely from the UK and Ireland, which means they were almost genetically and culturally identical (even then, they often hated each other’s guts). When immigration ‘diversified’ after the war, still the vast majority were from Europe. So, again, ethnically and culturally closely related.
The first real challenge to that rule came in the 1970s and 1980s, when large numbers of Vietnamese fled to Australia. However, the Vietnamese brought with them a culture of hard work and responsibility, were often Catholic and, having narrowly escaped its clutches, absolutely hated communism. More importantly, having waited years in refugee camps to be processed (only five per cent came illegally by boat), they were grateful to be here. When Dai Le took her place in the Australian parliament, she did so proudly in an Australian-flag-themed dress.
Compare that attitude to the resentful bungas and goat-fiddlers who march and machete their way through Australia’s cities, week on week.
The homogeneity showed in Australia’s political class, too. Eight-eight per cent of Australia’s prime ministers have been Anglo-Celtic. Of the four exceptions, all were still of European ancestry (even Chris Watson’s Chilean national father was of German ancestry).
America’s open borders enthusiasts make exactly the same dumb arguments, pretending that the immigrants flooding the West from the poo-pits of the developing world are just the same as the industrious British, Europeans who really did build this country, and the South-East Asian immigrants who so gratefully fitted in. But, as Ann Coulter points out, “only someone who willfully stuck his head up his butt could fail to notice that recent immigrants aren’t exactly blending”.
News you would not encounter during America’s first 350 years:
“Maryland Man [Kenyan immigrant] Arrested After Admitting to Killing, Eating Roommate” – US News and World Report. (It was the “eating” that disqualified the suspect for cashless bail.)
“ICE arrests illegal immigrant accused of child rape in Framingham, Massachusetts” – WCVB Channel 5, Boston. (This story has become so common it’s on page 27 of the paper, next to the horoscopes.)
Then there’s the ‘honour-killings’ that are plaguing not just Australia, the USA and Britain, but Canada as well. Not to mention the near-weekly reports of ‘machete-wielding teens’ running amok in Melbourne’s shopping centres and hacking peoples’ hands off for their mobile phones nor the recurrent phenomenon of racially religiously motivated child-rape gangs in Sydney, as well as the horrors inflicted on white British girls.
Thanks, diversity!
Then there’s the obvious problem that importing knuckle-dragging savages into a civilised country doesn’t civilise the savages, it savages the civilised.
“Santeria Ritual Sacrificial Practices in Miami” – Florida International University. (Suspects said to be not particularly devout, more like Christmas and Easter santeros.)
“Animal cruelty investigation underway after bag with three mutilated birds found in Putnam County …” – ABC7, New York. (No word yet on how the suspects got to Putnam County from Springfield, Ohio.)
“A ring of beheaded chicken carcasses was found in a Southwest Miami-Dade intersection” – CBS Miami. (Fed up with chicken carcasses in public spaces, Hispanic neighbors are demanding more severed heads.)
“Animal sacrifices on the rise in Queens with chickens, pigs being tortured in ‘twisted’ rituals” – New York Post.
“Now,” as Coulter points out, “liberals want us to import entire nations of cannibals, child molesters, thieves and voodoo practitioners”.
Well, I hope that chic ethnic cafe that serves falafels to die for is worth it all. Because our national culture is literally dying for it.
