Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’s leader in Gaza, may have a complicated case of pneumonia and the militant organisation is reportedly searching for a replacement.
Sinwar’s whereabouts are, of course, a mystery. He was last seen scurrying like a particularly nasty rodent down one of his own tunnels on 10 Oct. Like the hero he is, he leaves the martyrdom to everyone else. Which is very kind of him, really, to let the dumb, murderous shmucks on the ground in Gaza get first pick of the virgins in paradise.

Israel’s Channel 12 reports that an Arab country, which it doesn’t name, had heard of Sinwar’s illness from Hamas leaders. The country had asked the leaders to move toward a ceasefire and they had responded that Hamas was in trouble.
The group said it lacked ammunition, and its military structures were deteriorating, Channel 12 reports.
No wonder they’re so panicky for a ceasefire. Not to mention their good friends and employers at the UN.
A new US intelligence assessment found it is likely that some employees of a United Nations agency that distributes aid to Palestinians took part in Hamas’s Oct 7 assault on Israel, but says the US can’t verify Israeli allegations that a larger number of UN workers have links to militant groups, people familiar with the report said.
Washington and other Western capitals last month suspended funding for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which supplies aid to Palestinians, after Israel shared findings that at least 12 Unrwa employees were connected to the series of Hamas killings and kidnappings during an attack on Israel that sparked the war in Gaza.
Israeli intelligence agencies said they concluded that 10% of all UNRWA workers had some kind of affiliation, usually political, with Hamas. A far smaller number had ties to the militant wings of Hamas and another group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad. Unrwa employs around 12,000 people in Gaza.
Notice how the media treat even the most credible Israeli facts with the sort of scepticism even the late David Irving would blink at, while the most ludicrous propaganda from Hamas is repeated without question?
In the new report, which was completed last week, the US’s National Intelligence Council, a group of veteran intelligence analysts, said it assessed with “low confidence” that a handful of UNRWA staffers participated in the Oct 7 attack, those familiar with the findings said.
Would those be the same “veteran intelligence analysts” who told us, hand on heart, that Hunter Biden’s laptop was “Russian disinformation”?

Israeli media has been shown a video of a UNRWA worker, dragging the dead body of an Israeli in a UN jeep on October 7.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum played the video of Faisal Ali Musalam Naami and a Hamas militant carrying the body of Jonathan Samerano into the white vehicle then driving to Gaza.
Ayelet Samerano, Jonathan’s mother, asked reporters: “Does the UN hold my son? Do they know where he is? Bring him back to me – are there any other hostages held by UN employees? Even as we’re speaking right now? Where is my son?”
Mr Samerano was at the Nova desert rave on October 7 and had escaped to Kibbutz Be’eri when he was killed and his body removed, The Times of Israel reports.
Shelly Aviv Yeini, head of the HMFF legal team, said Naami was implicated in the kidnapping of Mr Samerano.
Of course the UN knows where he is – just like they knew about the other hostages being kept at UN workers’ homes.
The vast majority of UNRWA’s staff are Palestinian. Former foreign staffers say that local staff are likely to reflect Palestinian society.
