Who watches the watchers, indeed. There was rightly great concern when male British coppers were caught stalking women they had met in the course of their duties. It was blamed on “institutional misogyny”, a “toxic culture of sexism” in policing, a “toxic, patriarchal culture [which] has persisted throughout policing history”.
So, what does it mean when women are doing it?
A Victoria Police adviser has faced court accused of impersonating a police officer, perjury, perverting the course of justice and Facebook hacking in an alleged stalking spree that led to a man she was obsessed with being arrested and wrongly jailed for 18 days.
A tearful Caitlin Schiavone appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court clutching a stuffed toy during a committal hearing last week on 14 offences that included theft, making a false report to police and dishonestly receiving stolen goods.
Schiavone allegedly exchanged between 13,000 and 15,000 social media messages with the man. Worse, she accessed the man’s Facebook account and used it to send messages to herself, supposedly from him.
She is then accused of using those messages to lodge complaints against him to police.
“Part of the alleged offence is that the accused is obsessed with their relationship,” informant Elise Douglas, from the force’s specialist sexual offences and family violence squad, told the three-day committal hearing.
“The accused’s messages significantly outnumber the ones from (the alleged victim)” […] One of the messages, the court heard, was 750 words long.
As a result of the fabricated messages, Schiavone succeeded in having the victim arrested and remanded in custody for nearly three weeks.
To make matters worse, she is a victims of crime support officer, with a masters degree in domestic and family violence.
Talk about mechanics having the worst cars.
Ms Schiavone also stated on LinkedIn that she had represented Australia at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women and “worked alongside industry leaders in the elimination of gendered violence”.
The 31-year-old’s professional profile also states she worked at the Victims of Crime Commissioner’s Office between 2020 and 2023. “The current Victims of Crime Commissioner is Fiona McCormack and I represented her office,” her profile states, where she specialised in “high-level research on addressing domestic and family violence levels in response to the Covid-19 pandemic”.
Her job, she says, “required providing an empathetic and responsive service through the use of sensitive and controlled language to mitigate re-traumatisation when obtaining information from clients”.
She’s far from the only female law-enforcement professional with a less than professional attitude to male clients.
The Australian on Monday revealed [North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency] parole officer Samantha Alampi had been arrested after she was allegedly found in bed with Jefferson Woodie, who had allegedly removed his electronic ankle bracelet and gone on the run, just months after getting out of jail.
Police will allege the NAAJA officer laid a bizarre trail to the Mercure Resort in Alice Springs, as she tried to help the man – who had previously been sentenced for manslaughter – escape a long second sentence for breaking his parole conditions.
Women have become Australian of the Year for being groomed by older men in positions of power. Will Jefferson Woodie be made into a hero by the left-elite? After all, he’s every bit as much a victim.
The young offender allegedly found in a hotel bed with a parole officer appointed to him by the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency was subject to emotional and physical abuse as a child, began using drugs when he was 12 years old and had “highly complex” needs stemming from his parents’ alcohol misuse, court documents have revealed […]
Court documents describe Woodie as a “vulnerable” young man who suffered from an “awful trifecta of frank abuse or neglect from early childhood, a disengagement from the education system and a prolonged history of polysubstance abuse”.
It also revealed Woodie ”suffers from foetal alcohol spectrum disorder” as a result of his mother drinking while he was in the womb.
Somehow, I don’t expect the chattering classes to get in quite as much of a tizz over toxic femininity. I mean, one need only look at how they continue to fete misandrist anti-Semitic femcel, Clementine Ford.
