Ever notice how leftist authoritarians just can’t hide their Orwellian streak? Consider Australia’s ‘eSafety Commissioner’. It’s all very ‘Committee of Public Safety’ and ‘Ministry of Truth’, isn’t it? With good reason: as a new US government report outlines, Julie Inman Grant is deeply involved in a WEF-run ‘cartel’ that “colluded… to control online content and censor disfavored speech”.
In the same week, the internet Minister of Truth lost a key legal fight against her attempts to control what Australians can read, see and say. On the contrary, it’s been a very good week for ‘Billboard Chris’.
Elon Musk’s X Corp has won its legal fight against the eSafety Commissioner over a post which suggested a transgender activist belonged in a mental health ward, as his lawyers declare the judgment a “win for free speech”.
The Administrative Review Tribunal late Tuesday ruled the X post did not amount to cyber-abuse material, and therefore should not be the subject of a takedown order issued by commissioner Julie Inman-Grant […]
Chris Elston, operating under the X pseudonym Billboard Chris, made the post in March last year, resharing a Daily Mail article which suggested activist Teddy Cook was “too smutty” for a “strait-laced intergovernmental” work with the UN to draft care lines for transgender people.
You be the judge:
Cook, 45, who describeshimself[herself] as a ‘professional queer, man of trans experience’, has advocated for taxpayer-funded surgeries for all trans Australians. His[Her] now-private social media posts are awash with X-rated material, including public nudity, bondage parties, trans orgies and even a photo of a man apparently having sex with a dog.
Sounds like exactly the person to fit in with the globalist elite, really.
Billboard Chris knew what’s up: the lunatics have indeed taken over the asylum.
He added a caption which said “people who belong in psychiatric wards are writing the guidelines for people who belong in psychiatric wards”.
It’s the second big loss for Frau Inman Grant against X, after she was forced last October to back down from attempts to scrub videos of a Sydney Christian bishop being stabbed at the pulpit by an Islamic terrorist. What they don’t want us to see speaks volumes.
Now we learn that Australia’s censorship commissar is just one cog in a secretive globalist machine to control what the world is allowed to see. The US Congress’ Committee on the Judiciary has released a new report: Exporting Censorship: How GARM’s Advertising Cartel Helped Corporations Collude with Foreign Governments to Silence American Speech.
Guess who gets more than a few dishonourable mentions?
Australia’s current eSafety Commissioner, Julie Inman Grant, has used the law to regulate so-called “harmful” content and demand that social media platforms remove content globally, including content that would otherwise be accessible to American citizens in the United States.
In particular, Commissioner Grant has engaged in an aggressive regulatory campaign against Twitter. In April 2024, Commissioner Grant ordered Twitter to remove certain content from its platform, including content surrounding the stabbing of an Australian bishop. In response to this order, Twitter blocked the content from being shown to its Australian users. However, Commissioner Grant demanded that Twitter block the content from being shown to all Twitter users globally, a position that even the victim of the attack opposed.
The report is blunt and scathing: Inman Grant is just part of a sinister, secretive campaign by a WEF-linked ‘cartel’, which is hell-bent on imposing a stifling global blanket of censorship on the internet.
In exercising oversight of the adequacy and sufficiency of existing U.S. antitrust laws, the committee opened an investigation into the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) and its Global Alliance for Responsible Media (GARM) initiative. Through this oversight, the committee uncovered evidence that some of the world’s largest companies colluded through GARM to control online content and censor disfavored speech […]
GARM colluded with both advertisers and foreign regulators to pressure Twitter to comply with GARM’s demands. Specifically, documents received by the committee show that a European bureaucrat told the WFA that advertisers should pressure the European Commission (EC) “to push Twitter to deliver on GARM asks.” In Australia, eSafety Commissioner Julie Inman Grant relied on GARM to inform her “engagement [with Twitter] and regulatory decisions,” highlighting GARM’s “significant collective power in helping to hold the platforms to account.” In another message on that email thread, GARM’s Initiative Lead and co-founder, Robert Rakowitz, stated that silencing President Trump was his “main thing,” likening the president’s rhetoric to a “contagion” that he must contain “to protect infection overall.”
You want to talk about ‘foreign collusion’? Well, there’s your foreign collusion.
As demonstrated by the committee’s reports, GARM consistently attempted to hide the collusive, censorship-focused goals of its members and Steer Team behind the worthy-sounding goals of reducing “harmful” content online […] While GARM has disbanded and other similar initiatives have failed to launch, the threat of collusive conduct in opposition to free expression remains.
If there’s one thing the authoritarian left are dedicated to with more passion than demolishing Western liberal democracy, it’s controlling information. After all: who controls speech, controls everything.
